Denver, CO - Pedestrian Injured in Collision on Roslyn St near MLK Blvd

Denver, CO (October 11, 2025)  A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after a violent crash on Thursday evening, October 9, in West Denver. The collision happened around 7:10 p.m. near the intersection of 17th Avenue and Perry Street.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road when a vehicle struck them with tremendous force. The impact threw the victim onto the pavement and left them unconscious, with devastating injuries. Emergency crews arrived within minutes and fought to stabilize the victim at the scene before rushing them to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police spent several hours documenting debris, collecting evidence, and speaking with witnesses to piece together how the crash happened.

Investigators have not yet confirmed whether speeding, distraction, or impairment played a role in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the victim and their loved ones during this difficult time. We wish them a full and swift recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Colorado

Pedestrian crashes like this one in Denver are among the most devastating types of traffic accidents. With no protection against the force of a vehicle, pedestrians are highly vulnerable to catastrophic injuries such as traumatic brain damage, spinal cord injuries, internal bleeding, and broken bones. Sadly, many of these incidents prove fatal or lead to life-changing disabilities.

Across Colorado, hundreds of pedestrians are injured or killed in traffic accidents each year. Many of these tragedies are caused by preventable factors, including:

  • Speeding: Driving too fast reduces reaction time and makes collisions far more severe.
  • Distraction: Texting, adjusting controls, or other distractions often lead to devastating mistakes.
  • Impairment: Alcohol and drugs significantly impair a driver’s ability to react safely.
  • Failure to Yield: Ignoring crosswalks and traffic signals puts pedestrians in immediate danger.

The aftermath of a serious pedestrian crash can be overwhelming. Victims often require months of medical treatment and rehabilitation, while families face mounting bills, lost income, and emotional trauma.

If you or someone you love sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident, you may be entitled to compensation. This can cover hospital bills, ongoing care, lost wages, and the pain and suffering the crash caused. A skilled Denver pedestrian accident lawyer can investigate the incident, gather crucial evidence, and build a powerful case to hold the at-fault driver accountable.
