Colorado Pedestrian Crashes
Colorado has experienced a troubling rise in fatal pedestrian crashes in recent years. From 2012 to 2022, pedestrian deaths across the nation increased by 35.7%, with thousands of lives lost each year due to vehicle collisions. Colorado, including Denver, remains one of the states most affected by this heartbreaking trend, where fatal pedestrian accidents continue to claim too many lives.
Most of these tragic fatalities could be prevented and are often the result of driver negligence, such as speeding, distracted driving, and failure to yield the right of way. The loss of a loved one in such a sudden, violent event leaves families shattered and communities in mourning.
Beyond the immeasurable emotional toll, fatal pedestrian crashes raise difficult questions about accountability and justice. Families left behind face not only grief but also the challenge of navigating complex legal and insurance matters during an incredibly painful time.
