Jefferson Co., CO (June 7, 2025) — A deadly three-vehicle collision shut down a stretch of US 285 in both directions on Saturday morning, June 7, leaving one person dead and sending two others to the hospital, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash, which involved two passenger vehicles and a delivery truck, occurred near Highway 73 and Log Trail. Authorities closed the roadway around 9 a.m., diverting traffic to the nearby frontage road. The highway remained closed for several hours before reopening shortly before 2 p.m.
Elk Creek Fire Department officials confirmed that one adult was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other adults sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals, though their conditions have not been disclosed.
