Denver, CO (September 9, 2025) – A motorcyclist is fighting for their life after a violent crash with a bicyclist on Sunday, September 7, in northwest Denver.
The collision happened around 2:54 a.m. at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Lowell Street. Investigators said a motorcycle and a bicycle collided in the roadway, causing the rider to be thrown from the bike.
The impact left the motorcyclist trapped and severely injured. Witnesses reported that they were struggling to breathe as emergency crews arrived.
Firefighters worked urgently to free the rider before paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The bicyclist was also taken to the hospital for treatment, though their injuries were less severe.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. The Denver Police Department continues to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Our hearts go out to those injured and their loved ones during this challenging time. We wish them a full and swift recovery.
Motorcycle Accidents in Colorado
Motorcycle crashes are among the most devastating accidents on Colorado’s roads. Unlike drivers of cars or trucks, motorcyclists are completely exposed to the impact. Even at moderate speeds, a collision can cause catastrophic injuries that change a person’s life forever.
Intersections like 46th Avenue and Lowell Street are particularly dangerous for riders. A single misjudged turn, a distracted moment, or reduced visibility can result in tragedy within seconds.
Every year, hundreds of motorcycle riders in Colorado are hospitalized after crashes. Many suffer:
- Traumatic brain injuries, even when helmets are worn
- Spinal cord injuries, sometimes leading to paralysis
- Multiple fractures, requiring extensive surgeries
- Severe internal injuries, which can be fatal without immediate care
These injuries frequently require extensive medical treatment, leaving riders facing long hospital stays, painful recoveries, and permanent disability.
For motorcyclists, the consequences of a crash often go far beyond the physical injuries. Medical expenses rise quickly. Income may stop if the victim cannot return to work. Families face overwhelming medical bills, loss of income, and emotional trauma.
If you were injured in a motorcycle accident, you can seek compensation. This can cover hospital visits, rehabilitation, lost wages, and the pain and suffering that follows such a traumatic event. However, insurance companies often push back hard, offering far less than you truly need.
This makes it critical to have an efficient and skilled Denver motorcycle accident lawyer on your side.
