Written by Bradley Smith

Golden, CO (September 24, 2025) – Two people were rushed to the hospital after a fiery crash involving a box truck on Monday, September 22, in Golden.
The collision happened near the interchange of I-70 and C-470. According to Golden Fire-Rescue, a box truck veered off I-70 and rolled down onto C-470. The violent crash sparked a fire, and flames quickly engulfed the truck as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
Firefighters used heavy equipment to reach the trapped occupants while battling the blaze. During the rescue, a nearby power pole fell onto the truck, adding danger for the first responders. Despite the chaos, crews were able to free the injured victims and get them to safety.
Paramedics transported both people to a nearby hospital. Officials said they were in stable condition, but the extent of their injuries has not been fully released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to understand what led to the truck leaving the roadway.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this frightening crash, and we wish them a full and swift recovery.
Truck Accidents in Colorado
Serious truck accidents like the one near I-70 and C-470 highlight the dangers large commercial vehicles pose on Colorado roads. Box trucks and other large commercial vehicles can cause devastating injuries when they lose control, roll over, or crash into other vehicles. Their size, weight, and cargo can turn even a single-vehicle accident into a life-threatening event for anyone involved.
Some of the most common causes of truck accidents in Colorado include:
- Driver Fatigue: Long hours behind the wheel can slow reaction time and lead to serious mistakes.
- Distracted Driving: Phones, GPS systems, or paperwork can take a driver’s attention off the road.
- Speeding: Heavy trucks need longer stopping distances, making high speeds dangerous.
- Mechanical Failure: Poor maintenance or defective parts can cause brake failure or rollovers.
- Improper Loading: Unbalanced or unsecured cargo can make a truck tip or lose control.
Victims of truck crashes often face long recoveries, major surgeries, and high medical costs. Many are unable to return to work right away, leading to financial strain for families already dealing with physical and emotional trauma.
If you or someone you love sustained injuries in a Colorado truck accident, you may be entitled to compensation. This can cover medical care, lost wages, long-term treatment, and pain and suffering.
