Lakewood, CO – Injuries Caused by Accident on CO-470 near US 285

Lakewood, CO (July 10, 2025) – Westbound lanes of Colorado 470 have reopened following a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in injuries and temporarily shut down the highway, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred near the interchange with U.S. 285, prompting authorities to close the westbound lanes around 2:00 p.m. Emergency responders arrived quickly to assist those injured in the crash and transport them to nearby medical facilities. The number and severity of injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Colorado Department of Transportation officials reported that the roadway was cleared and reopened to traffic around 2:40 p.m. following a rapid response and cleanup effort.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Drivers in the area were urged to exercise caution due to lingering congestion from the earlier closure.
