Thornton, CO – Major Crash on I-25 Leaves Several Injured

Thornton, CO (September 10, 2025) – A major crash on Tuesday morning, September 9, left several people critically injured on I-25 southbound near 104th Avenue.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. when multiple vehicles collided in the southbound lanes. The impact crushed one vehicle, trapping a passenger inside.
Emergency crews arrived within minutes. Firefighters worked urgently with rescue tools to free the trapped passenger. Paramedics provided immediate medical treatment before rushing several victims to a nearby hospital, where at least one person remains in critical condition.
Traffic on I-25 quickly came to a standstill, with backups extending as far as East 144th Avenue. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as emergency responders stabilized victims and cleared the wreckage.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
